Madeira and The Canary Islands
Spain and Portugal both have autonomous communities in Macaronesia, a region of volcanic archipelagos of the West Coast of Africa. Macaronesia is made of the The Canary Islands, Madeira, The Azores and the country of Cape Verde.
For most people The Canary Islands and Madeira are a winter sun destination with the islands also being a refuelling hub for transatlantic cruises.
